The role
Performance musicians are sought to provide musical entertainment to patients in NHS Lothian hospital wards, enhancing patient mood and recovery. The role involves playing acoustic instruments such as guitar or violin, preparing set lists, and engaging with patients through conversation. Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high competence with acoustic instruments, and the ability to perform confidently with minimal introduction. Adaptability, independence, and adherence to health and safety regulations are essential, along with a commitment to NHS values and confidentiality. Support, training, and ongoing supervision will be provided to ensure high standards of performance in a variety of settings across NHS Lothian hospitals.
