The role
Seeking an experienced TIG welder to join a fast-paced aerospace production environment, welding aluminum, stainless steel, and inconel heat transfer components and sub-assemblies.
Weld per specifications using blueprints, weld schedules, and method sheets; perform tack welds and final welds.
Inspect weld quality for porosity, incomplete fusion, undercuts, cracks, and other defects; document findings.
Train new and existing welders on techniques and process improvements; plan work orders and source tools and materials.
Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent overheating or distortion; repair and fabricate items as needed; maintain equipment and work areas.
Must meet AWS D17.1 aerospace welding standards, read engineering drawings, pass annual eye exam, and lift up to 75 pounds; 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) in Garden City, NY.
