The role
An industrial engineer in Loughborough will analyse production processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, including automation and redesign. They will conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity modelling to support operational planning and optimise material flow and workstation design to enhance ergonomics and throughput. The role involves leading continuous improvement (CI) projects, developing dashboards and reporting tools, and supporting cost reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. They will collaborate with quality teams to improve process capability and reduce defects, and lead a small engineering team to deliver projects on time. The role requires coaching skills to embed a culture of continuous improvement among engineers, operators, and supervisors, along with preparing business cases and ROI calculations.
