The role

This role focuses on designing, prototyping, integrating, and testing mechanical components for ground launch systems, with hands-on fabrication and assembly responsibilities.
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies in CAD software, with attention to tight tolerances and complex interfaces.
Perform structural analysis using commercial tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, LS-DYNA) and in-house FEA tools, and assess effects on broader systems.
Prototype fabrication, assembly, and hardware testing to verify performance against customer requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing and other stakeholders to design for manufacturing and ensure successful production.
Requirements include US citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance, a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering (master’s preferred), SolidWorks proficiency, and relevant DFx experience; programming, thermal analysis, or defense-domain experience are a plus.
