The role
The role involves developing and maintaining native iOS or Android applications within the Government Digital Service, contributing to the delivery of national digital services. Candidates will work in multidisciplinary Agile teams, engaging in all stages of the application lifecycle, including user research, coding, testing, and deployment. Responsibilities include producing high-quality code using Swift or Kotlin, engaging in automated testing, and participating in code reviews and team knowledge sharing. The position requires familiarity with the development ecosystem, Apple Human Interface or Material Design principles, and modern software engineering practices such as TDD and CI. Senior roles additionally involve mentoring, supporting team development, and providing technical leadership to enhance government digital innovations.
