Resident Doctor Critical Care

A part-time resident doctor role specialising in adult critical care is available in Birmingham at The Harborne Hospital, focusing on ICU and HDU care. The position requires managing low patient numbers, assessing, stabilising, and providing ventilatory support to patients post-surgery across diverse specialties including gynaecology, cardiac, neurology, oncology, and renal/liver conditions. The role involves performing advanced procedures such as central venous access and airway management, alongside maintaining detailed patient records and facilitating safe discharges. Working closely within a multidisciplinary team, the doctor will also act as the airway specialist and provide support during emergency resuscitations, supported by a specialist nurse and on-call consultant. This hospital is rated “Good” by CQC, reflecting its commitment to quality and safety. Candidates must have GMC registration, postgraduate qualifications, and experience in Level 3 adult critical care, committed to a long-term nights-only pattern.
