The role
Under general direction, the Senior Real Property Officer oversees acquisition, management, and leasing of City real estate, applying existing policies and procedures.
Plans, schedules, and supervises Real Property Officers in appraisals, negotiations, and related duties; provides training on Administrative Code and City Charter.
Conducts complex appraisals, negotiates leases and property acquisitions, and coordinates public bid processes for sale, lease, or development of City property.
Engages independent appraisers and outside consultants, reviews their reports, and may testify as an expert witness on fair market value.
Oversees title reviews, resolves imperfect titles, and prepares resolutions, ordinances, deeds, and other documents to implement transactions.
Supervises departmental records, reports, and statistics; collaborates with City Attorney, engineers, architects, and consultants to complete property transactions.
