The role
The role involves providing highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for patients affected by cancer across various stages, including diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care. The psychologist will work with clients experiencing complex emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and existential distress, supporting them and their families. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, safeguarding, formulating treatment plans, and implementing psychological therapies. The post requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including oncology, haematology, and palliative care to enhance holistic patient care. Candidates should have postgraduate doctoral training in applied psychology and HCPC registration with Chartered Status, with experience across diverse client groups and care settings.
