The role
The Pharmacist is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred pharmaceutical services while ensuring compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards. The role involves clinical and accuracy checking of outpatient and discharge prescriptions, providing medicines advice to patients and healthcare teams, supporting oral chemotherapy prescribing, and promoting medicines management safety. They support the daily pharmacy operations, staff development, monitoring quality standards, and acting as Responsible Pharmacist when required. The Pharmacist collaborates closely with clinical teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality patient care, service improvement, and operational achievement. They coordinate and develop a team to meet pharmaceutical needs and maintain excellent relationships with patients and stakeholders for optimal health and business outcomes. The role requires adherence to professional standards, co-ordination of pharmacy activities, and contribution to team leadership and performance management.
