The role
A Legal Counsel specialising in banking and finance provides legal support for lending and financing activities, including structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution. Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating facility agreements, security documents, and ancillary finance documents, they advise on transaction structuring and legal risk allocation. The role involves supporting the execution process from instruction through to completion, including funding and drawdowns, and developing lending documentation and legal precedents. Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders, they identify legal and regulatory risks associated with transactions. They build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support the development of legal processes and governance. The ideal candidate manages multiple matters with high accuracy, attention to detail, and maintains high standards of legal quality, organisation, and stakeholder communication.
