The role
Provides interpreter services across hospital settings to non-English and limited-English speaking patients, families, and healthcare staff through in-person, telephone, and video modes.
Interprets accurately and completely, flags culturally insensitive content, and ensures patient dignity and safety.
Translates patient materials such as discharge instructions, medication guidance, and consent forms as needed.
Maintains interpreter equipment and keeps records, including daily data entry of workload and service metrics.
Participates in mandatory trainings on healthcare interpreting, culturally competent care, patient safety, and telehealth interpreting tools.
Supports clinical teams by training staff on language access services and helping ensure policy compliance.
