The role
The Junior Journalist Apprenticeship offers an opportunity for individuals interested in storytelling to gain practical experience within a major broadcaster. It involves working closely with news teams, sourcing stories, creating content for diverse platforms and participating in newsroom activities. Apprentices will study for a Level 5 qualification and obtain the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism through on-the-job learning and coursework. The role requires curiosity, creativity, enthusiasm for media, flexibility, and a motivated approach to fast-paced environments. Eligibility criteria include age, residence history, and educational qualifications, with apprentices expected to live within a commutable distance to Birmingham. The programme lasts for 24 months as a fixed-term contract, supporting career development and networking opportunities.
