The role
Provide consecutive interpretation across English, Fuzhounese, Mandarin, and Cantonese in medical, legal, and customer-service contexts via OPI/VRI.
Maintain neutrality, confidentiality, and preserve tone, intent, and emotion in high-pressure conversations.
Manage call flow professionally by applying active listening, memory techniques, and note-taking during longer exchanges.
Adhere to interpretation protocols and avoid personal opinions; intervene for clarification when needed.
Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and feedback to improve performance; utilize basic computer tools to log activity.
Requires a quiet workspace, reliable home internet, and a structured schedule; must pass language and interpreting assessments; minimum 6 months of relevant experience.
