The role
Design metal, plastic, and carbon composite patient support structures for operating rooms, ensuring stiffness, strength, stability, reliability, and cost targets.
Develop user-actuated mechanisms and electro-mechanical drive trains to articulate structures, optimizing patient positioning, surgical access, and traction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D, manufacturing, clinical, marketing, and service to translate concepts into production-ready solutions.
Own design history documentation and testing methods, and support New Product Introduction (NPI) to maximize manufacturability.
Incorporate field feedback, participate in vendor selection, sustaining engineering, QC inspection, and material review board activities.
Lead projects, mentor engineers, and communicate clearly to senior management while driving product improvements and cost reductions.
