The role
Delivers safe, patient-centered critical care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit by applying the nursing process, theory, and evidence-based practice.
Assesses and prioritizes complex patient needs, utilizing critical thinking to drive care plans and evaluate outcomes.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and reassess the plan of care and ensure smooth transitions.
Educates patients and families, performs purposeful hourly rounding, and supports discharge planning and health promotion.
Models Relationship Centered Care, maintains therapeutic patient/family relationships, and leads safety and quality initiatives.
Performs charge nurse duties, ensures efficient resource use, documents accurately, and pursues ongoing professional development.
