The role
An Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost and resource estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure projects in Chorley, contributing to competitive tenders and project profitability. The role involves collaborating with engineering, planning, commercial and operational teams to develop accurate and robust tender submissions, while identifying risks and opportunities through value engineering. The Estimator builds and maintains relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and the wider supply chain, ensuring seamless transition from tender to project delivery. They support continuous process improvement and the development of junior team members through mentorship. Candidates should possess estimating experience within civil engineering or construction, with strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills and a methodical, analytical approach are essential for managing multiple tenders and stakeholder engagement.
