The role
An Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Sheffield is responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems such as distribution boards, motors, and control panels. They diagnose and repair electrical faults swiftly and safely to ensure minimal production downtime. The role includes inspecting, testing, and commissioning electrical installations in compliance with regulations, as well as installing and modifying electrical systems and control panels. The engineer records maintenance activities using CMMS and maintains accurate documentation, ensuring all work aligns with health and safety standards through risk assessments and safe isolations. Candidates should have a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance and experience within medium to heavy engineering environments. The role offers a rotating shift pattern and requires flexibility for on-call duties, with additional desirable skills including fault finding on Siemens PLCs, electrical installation work, and pneumatics or HV experience.
