The role
An Assignment Editor based in Edinburgh is responsible for developing, editing, and executing international current affairs news packages, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. The role involves selecting stories, writing headlines, and dispatching correspondents and crews to global news events, with a strong focus on editorial judgment. Candidates should possess a relevant degree, at least three years of network news experience, and excellent communication skills in English. Familiarity with TV and digital news production, operational techniques, and experience in multi-cultural environments are essential. The position requires working on multiple stories in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
