The role
The Clinical Pharmacist in inpatient operations is responsible for delivering expert pharmaceutical care within the hospital, including reviewing and dispensing medication orders, collaborating with prescribers to resolve medication issues, and overseeing controlled substance and non-sterile compounding. The role involves supervising pharmacy support staff, conducting medication history documentation, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and efficiency. Candidates should possess a degree in pharmacy, with relevant inpatient hospital experience and licensure in Massachusetts, including experience with pharmacy systems like EPIC Willow and Beacon. This position requires shift flexibility as it involves working every other weekend to ensure continuous pharmacy operations. The pharmacist must have strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and support patient education and medication safety practices.
