The role
The Medical Doctor Degree Apprenticeship (MDDA) offers an alternative pathway into medicine, aimed at increasing representation within local communities in East Suffolk and North Essex. Apprentices will be employed by ESNEFT and will undertake full-time academic study at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, with a focus on rotational non-clinical roles in healthcare settings across the East of England. Applicants must attend an MDDA information session and validate their attendance with a reference code, ensuring eligibility. The programme involves working in various roles such as hospital patient liaison, clinical coding, and administrative support, only outside university attendance periods. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to living and working in the region and meet specific GCSE and qualification criteria, tailored to different entry levels. The apprenticeship emphasizes professional development, digital transformation, and delivering community health services, fostering skills in patient care and healthcare systems.
