The role
A SQL Database Administrator in Cheltenham will be responsible for managing and optimising Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL platforms, ensuring data security, availability and performance. They will handle backups, restores, performance tuning and high availability solutions while supporting infrastructure and platform initiatives. The role requires supporting production environments, developing maintenance plans and ensuring compliance with security policies. Candidates should have strong SQL Server administration experience, knowledge of disaster recovery, and automation skills using PowerShell. They will collaborate with infrastructure and software teams, troubleshoot incidents, and contribute to technical documentation. The position also involves participating in an out-of-hours support rota for critical incidents and supporting Windows Server maintenance.
