The role
Liverpool Philharmonic seeks a skilled musician to engage young people aged 8-18 through instrumental tuition, ensemble leadership and performances within community programmes. The role involves inspiring children and teenagers, developing their confidence, self-esteem and emotional intelligence through musical activity. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of musicians and community partners to design engaging learning experiences and promote social impact. Technical skills required include proficiency on string instruments, ensemble coaching, and music leadership, complemented by strong interpersonal and behavioural qualities. The role involves work across school programmes, community events and occasional evening or weekend sessions, with specific hours varying throughout the year. A criminal record check will be conducted as part of the employment process and candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for working with young people.
