The role
A manufacturing system in Glasgow, over twenty years old, is being redeveloped with modern front-end technologies. The role involves defining the architecture, standards, and craft for a React and TypeScript application used on factory floors. The candidate will extend the system across workflow areas, ensuring seamless migration from legacy software without disrupting operations. Responsibilities include directly validating designs with operators and coaching existing engineers to improve front-end skills. The ideal candidate has led a product front-end team, understands factory-floor UX, and has experience with real-world user requirements. This role is remote with some on-site visits, offering a 12-month contract outside IR35.
