The role
The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Locum Consultant in General Medicine with a specialist interest, to join a dedicated team managing patients on an 20-cubicle ward and medical outliers. The role involves providing clinical and administrative care for hospitalised patients, making early decisions for emergency admissions, and supervising junior staff and allied health professionals. Candidates will promote patient flow from the Emergency Department, develop clinical pathways, and participate in audits, quality improvement, and clinical trials. The position also includes participation in the general internal medicine on-call rota and supporting multi-professional development initiatives. Essential skills include extensive experience in general medicine, multidisciplinary working, and appropriate UK GMC registration, with additional qualifications being desirable. The role offers opportunities for professional growth in teaching, research, and leadership within a nationally recognised department.
