The role
The procurement specialist manages procurement activities for designated commodities, supporting purchasing functions such as request for proposals, purchase orders, and supplier returns. They coordinate inventory requisitions, update procurement systems, and resolve shipment and invoice discrepancies ensuring data accuracy. The role requires understanding of materials flow, supplier negotiations, ERP systems, and process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 to 5 years' experience in materials or supply chain roles, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume environment. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential to meet the demands of a rapidly changing and complex environment. They must demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and organisational talent to support production and inventory requirements.
