The role
A DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building and maintaining resilient CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment processes. They develop deployment automation using Infrastructure as Code principles and manage development, pre-production, and production environments. The role involves automating environment provisioning, monitoring system health, and creating deployment documentation. Collaboration with software teams to enhance build reliability and deployment efficiency is essential, along with maintaining version control and release management. Strong skills in Linux administration, containerisation, and scripting are required, with experience in deploying into specialised infrastructure environments. Knowledge of messaging platforms, relational databases, and possibly Azure platform management enhances performance in this role.
