The role
A Network Engineer supports the design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and availability. They work with various networking technologies including routing, switching, and network security, gaining experience in virtualisation and cloud environments. Responsibilities include configuring network devices, monitoring performance, conducting upgrades, and troubleshooting faults. The role involves collaborating with infrastructure and security teams and may include leading projects or mentoring junior staff for more experienced candidates. Candidates should possess networking fundamentals, experience supporting enterprise networks, and familiarity with vendor equipment such as Cisco or Juniper. Additional skills in routing protocols, firewalls, wireless, virtualisation, and automation are desirable.
