The role

An Oracle/SQL Database Administrator is responsible for supporting Oracle and SQL Server databases within a secure environment, maintaining performance, availability, and stability of business-as-usual services. The role involves monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and managing incidents, alongside performing backups, restores, patching, and upgrades. The administrator supports high availability and disaster recovery capabilities such as AlwaysOn, Data Guard, or RAC, ensuring database security and compliance in a highly regulated setting. Strong technical skills in database management, performance tuning, and disaster recovery are essential, along with good knowledge of technologies and industry standards. This role requires active SC clearance and sole UK nationality, with a preference for ITIL or managed service experience.
