The role
An industrial engineer in Gaydon or Halewood will lead a team of manufacturing engineers in the trim and final area, providing guidance and mentorship. The role involves lean process planning, waste elimination, value stream mapping, ergonomics assessment, and cycle time reduction to enhance productivity and competitiveness. Responsibilities include process optimisation, automation, standardisation, and capacity planning, alongside safety compliance and equipment utilisation. The engineer will support new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives, employing CAD tools to design workstations and flow layouts. Candidates must possess extensive automotive industry experience, leadership skills, and technical proficiency in manufacturing processes, quality standards, and tools such as AutoCAD and CATIA. The position requires a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 8 to 10 years' experience in automotive trim and final assembly industrial engineering.
