A senior machine learning engineer is responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models, primarily for recommendations and personalisation functions, within production environments. The role entails applying data analysis, feature engineering, and training complex models such as neural networks and transformers to solve real-world business problems. Candidates will need strong skills in programming with Python, Java, and utilisation of frameworks like Spark, TensorFlow, and Ray, along with experience in large-scale data systems such as Hive and NoSQL databases. They should hold a degree in computer science, statistics, or similar, and be capable of system debugging, performance optimisation, and continuous integration of models. The role involves building scalable inferencing services, managing the entire ML lifecycle, and working with low-latency, real-time scoring systems in a collaborative technical environment.
