Senior Mechanical Engineer – Southampton

A Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for delivering mechanical engineering solutions throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and reliability standards. The role involves detailed design work, numerical calculations, tolerance studies, and producing manufacturing data in accordance with industry standards. Candidates must support technical investigations, conduct reviews of mechanical designs, and participate in practical development activities and design of experiments. The position requires experience in mechanical design for harsh environments, using 3D CAD tools like PTC Creo, and knowledge of structural and thermal analysis data. The role also entails supporting product development and production, contributing to work package delivery, and maintaining technical standards. The successful candidate will ideally hold a related degree or equivalent experience in defence environments, specialising in electronic and electro-optic products.
