The role
The Lead Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and patient-centred delivery of oncology pharmacy services. The role supports high-quality cancer care by providing clinical pharmacy leadership, driving medicines management initiatives, and ensuring services meet regulatory, governance, and national oncology standards. This position is suitable for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist aiming to combine clinical leadership, service development, governance, and operational oversight. Candidates should be GPhC-registered with significant oncology pharmacy experience, preferably within a cancer centre or hospital oncology department. Proficiency with electronic prescribing systems and a proactive approach to improving services are essential for success. The role involves leading safe pharmacy practice, supporting the growth of oncology services, and ensuring high standards of patient care in a dynamic environment.
