The role
The role involves leading clinical placement activities for a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme, managing placement allocations, and developing new placements. The postholder will oversee placement activities for a specific student year group, providing mentorship and support to clinical tutors. They will liaise with external stakeholders like NHS organisations and placement supervisors to ensure high-quality training environments. Essential skills include a doctoral qualification in clinical psychology, HCPC registration, and experience supervising DClin trainees. Desirable attributes are expertise in a clinical psychology specialty, PhD, and experience supervising doctoral or PhD research projects. The successful candidate will possess a critical approach to issues of power and privilege, excellent communication, organisational skills, and a passion for innovation in professional practice.
