Principal Scientist, Machine Learning, Genomics

As a Principal Scientist (Embedded ML/Computational), you will lead multiple AI/ML and computational initiatives across early-stage ventures, defining pragmatic AI strategies and overseeing method and platform development (e.g., systems design, protein design, molecular modeling, systems biology, and LLM-based agent/workflow automation). You will ensure rigor in model development, benchmarking, scaling, and production deployment; manage cross-functional contributors; influence venture direction; and represent the role to external partners. The ideal candidate is a self-directed deep-diver capable of moving from protein design to mass spectrometry or docking pipelines, and then spinning up LLM-based agents to automate scientific workflows. You will contribute to project planning, budgets, timelines, and surface risks early, while mentoring early hires and contributing to hiring plans. You will independently scout the AI/ML landscape, synthesize concepts into development strategies, and communicate complex findings to diverse audiences to drive decisions.
