Industrial Engineer – Loughborough

An industrial engineer in this role will analyse production processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation, conducting time studies, line balancing, and capacity modelling to support operational planning. They will optimise material flow, layout, and workstation design to enhance ergonomics and throughput while partnering with production teams to validate and implement process changes. Leading continuous improvement and engineering projects from concept to completion, they will ensure that projects meet timelines, budgets, and deliverables. The engineer will interpret production data to find trends and improvement opportunities, champion lean tools like 5S and SMED, and develop KPIs and dashboards to support performance tracking. They will support cost reduction initiatives and collaborate with quality teams to improve process capability and reduce defects, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Additionally, they will lead a small engineering team, providing leadership, setting priorities, resolving problems, and coaching staff to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
