The role
The Backend Developer role involves designing and maintaining scalable server-side applications, APIs, databases, and cloud services supporting core digital platforms. Candidates should possess strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Azure, along with knowledge of API security, DevOps practices, and software best practices such as SOLID principles. Responsibilities include developing microservices, developing automation, and supporting system monitoring, troubleshooting, and deployment. The role requires collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to refine technical specifications and ensure quality compliance in regulated settings. Technical skills in containerisation, orchestration, and other emerging technologies are advantageous, complemented by a relevant degree or experience in computer science.
