The role
Perform failure analysis and forensic assessments for HVAC, fire suppression, and related mechanical systems to determine origin, failure mechanism, and root cause. Inspect sites and equipment, retrieve and analyze data, perform 3D documentation (total station, scanners, drones), and prepare CAD-based sketches as needed. Review codes, standards, drawings, specifications, and literature to evaluate design compliance and operation. Conduct analyses in industrial safety, equipment design and failure, product liability, and safety; support fire and explosion investigations involving mechanical systems. Develop scopes of work and project budgets, write clear reports, and provide expert guidance and testimony as required. Build and maintain client relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely forensic engineering solutions, with up to 25% travel in NY/NJ and surrounding states, primarily remote.
