The role
Plans, directs, and advances an organization-wide privacy and compliance program for healthcare operations.
Leads risk assessments, develops work plans, and ensures adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, and state privacy laws.
Chairs or co-chairs compliance and privacy committees and provides guidance to leadership and staff on regulatory requirements.
Investigates concerns, initiates corrective actions, and monitors outcomes through audits and ongoing training.
Oversees policies, procedures, training, and awareness programs related to privacy, billing integrity, and safeguarding PHI.
Fosters a culture of compliance by building collaborative relationships and aligning risk management with organizational objectives.
