The role
A leading-edge AI organisation seeks a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead technical teams and develop high-performance machine learning systems from research to deployment. The role involves guiding team members, translating research into practical solutions, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The engineer will oversee entire model development processes, support strategic and technical decision-making, and contribute to company growth. Candidate requirements include 7–10 years of ML experience, proven leadership skills, and expertise in Python and PyTorch; JAX is a plus. Desirable skills include a background in electronic engineering and experience with low-latency ML systems. The position is based in the UK with hybrid or flexible working options, offering a salary between GBP 57,600 and 84,000 annually.
