The role
A senior geo-environmental engineer manages contaminated land and environmental assessment projects, overseeing technical report production and review, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 evaluations. The role involves developing remediation strategies, liaising with planning authorities and regulators, and ensuring project outputs meet legal standards such as LCRM guidance. Responsibilities include overseeing fieldwork activities, interpreting geochemical analysis, and maintaining project budgets within deadlines. The engineer also supports junior staff development and shares knowledge of soil science, risk assessment, and remediation techniques. A strong background in environmental risk assessment and familiarity with modelling tools are essential, along with a valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
