The role
Provide on-site Spanish-English medical interpretation for patients and families at various in-person medical settings.
Interpret during hospital admissions, discharges, clinical visits, outpatient surgeries (pre- and post-op), diagnostics, schools, and occasional emergency department visits.
Follow all protocols, educate patients and providers about the interpreter's role, and check in/out on time to stay for the full scheduled duration.
Manage an organized schedule to ensure no appointments are missed or double-booked.
Requirements include native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, Oregon healthcare interpreter certification (OHA) or eligibility, and passing the required language evaluation.
Independent contractor role (1099) with reliable transportation and strong listening, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
