The role
Manage public infrastructure projects from design through completion, including coordination with consultants and internal departments.
Prepare plans and cost estimates for roadways, water/sewer lines, storm drainage, and pedestrian facilities.
Coordinate surveys, rights-of-way, easements, permits, and ensure compliance with city standards and federal/state guidelines.
Oversee construction inspections, review contractor pay requests, and resolve design and construction issues.
Lead transportation initiatives such as transit plans, greenways, and intersection improvements, with strong public communication.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering with 3 years' public infrastructure experience or Associate's with 7 years; North Carolina PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months for II; proficiency in Civil 3D, MS Office, and GIS/GPS.
