The role
The role involves originating and commissioning political stories across various platforms, working closely with political correspondents and reporters to ensure high journalistic standards. The assistant editor acts as a primary liaison with regional political parties to maintain balanced and impartial content. Responsibilities include producing the Politics North programme, booking guests, creating running orders, scripting, and overseeing visual and editorial compliance.
