The role
A procurement specialist with experience in energy and utilities is required to develop and manage procurement strategies across electricity, natural gas, and emission allowances in Hartlepool. The role involves leading energy sourcing using various pricing models, monitoring markets, and maintaining supplier relationships. Responsibilities include supporting budgeting, forecasting, and analysing energy consumption and costs, alongside identifying green energy opportunities such as PPAs and solar. The candidate should possess over five years of procurement experience, particularly in volatile markets, and have strong analytical skills. Ideally, experience in energy-intensive industries like manufacturing or chemicals, and knowledge of renewable energy procurement, are desired. The role emphasises managing energy price volatility, supply risks, and contributing to sustainability initiatives.
