The role
The SOC Analyst works within the Cyber Security team at the National Crime Agency in Birmingham, operating in a 24/7 shift pattern. Responsibilities include monitoring security technologies such as IDS, IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security, along with building partnerships to enhance threat detection. The role involves content development, analytics, and tuning to safeguard the agency's vulnerabilities, as well as supporting engineering and reporting tasks. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for cybersecurity, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with diverse teams. They should have relevant IT or cybersecurity qualifications, be able to interpret complex data, and successfully undergo security vetting processes. The position does not allow for hybrid working and requires a full-time shift-based schedule.
