Consultant Psychiatrist – Darwen

A Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in intellectual disabilities is sought to join the community teams in Darwen, working across multiple locations including Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale, as well as Hyndburn and Ribble Valley. The role involves assessing and treating individuals with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties, including autism and challenging behaviour, both in clinical settings and at patients' homes. Candidates will provide advice and support to multidisciplinary teams, supervise non-medical prescribing colleagues, and work independently with no on-call commitments. They must hold full GMC registration, be on the Specialist Register or eligible within six months, and be Section 12 approved with Approved Clinician Status. The position offers a full-time contract with terms aligned with the New Consultant Contract, with responsibilities aligned to NHS standards.
