The role
Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial and general construction projects from drawings, specs, and bid documents.
Conduct quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing while developing complete bid proposals and project budgets.
Define scopes of work for subcontractors and identify cost risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities.
Attend pre-bid meetings, perform site visits as needed, and collaborate with project managers to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating to construction.
Maintain historical cost data, support pricing changes, and prepare schedules and cost updates using estimating software and MS Project.
