The role
The Cyber Security Consultant operates within the Operational Integrator function to support the transition to a multi-supplier SIAM model in a defence setting. They review, align, and govern high-severity incident and vulnerability management processes across suppliers, ensuring a consistent, risk-based approach aligned with policy and regulation. The role involves coordinating multiple suppliers, overseeing incident lifecycles, and validating vulnerability remediation efforts to ensure compliance and audit readiness. The consultant sets evidence requirements, supports reporting, and ensures processes are standardised for handover to business-as-usual operations. They interpret outputs from security tooling, manage risks in asset and system coverage, and provide assurance aligning with ISMS standards. Key skills include experience in incident and vulnerability management, working in multi-supplier environments, and understanding threat lifecycle processes.
