The role
The role involves managing and supporting phase I and II geo-environmental ground investigations, including report preparation and site investigations. It requires undertaking on-site investigations using intrusive techniques and conducting environmental monitoring visits with report production. The position also involves managing incident response visits, soil logging in line with UK standards, and preparing laboratory schedules. Candidates should possess a relevant degree such as geology or environmental science, and be working towards chartered status, with 1–5 years of experience in geo-environmental or geotechnical work. The environment is multidisciplinary, requiring good management of resources and time, alongside excellent understanding of geology, contamination, and planning legislation. A full UK driving licence is essential, and technical skills include ground investigation practices and report writing.
