The role
A multimedia reporter is responsible for capturing and delivering local news stories across radio, online, and social media platforms. The role involves working closely with contacts to source exclusive stories, producing engaging audio and video content, and reacting swiftly to breaking news conditions. Candidates must have a recognised journalism qualification, a full driving licence, and experience with audio and video broadcasting platforms. They should be able to work accurately under pressure, ensuring content is legally compliant and balanced. Building strong relationships with the community and colleagues, and maintaining an up-to-date news diary, are essential duties. The position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a passion for storytelling across multiple media channels.
